Re: Fees
We hope that our cost of cryopreservation is low enough to be affordable. If not, we are continuing to work on less expensive options. Good perfusion will be a requirement for both standard cryopreservation and for any cheaper options. We still haven't demonstrated acceptable preservation quality wi...

Re: Aldehyde Stabilized Cryopreservation
Cracking happens during cooling and would be noticed immediately without waiting. So this procedure completely avoids cracking. We think, although there is still some uncertainty, that all current cryonics patients so far have undergone cracking. This includes the Alcor patients stored in Intermedia...

Dewar lid needs paint
The TV interview went fine except for one problem: they decided to zoom in on the dewar lid that needed paint. I was mortified, but had no control. Needless to say, I'm painting lids today.

Re: Aldehyde Stabilized Cryopreservation
I changed the name of your post from "a new cryoprotectant" to "Aldehyde Stabilized Cryopreservation". Yes, it's very exciting, and clearly has profound implications for all cryonics service providers. My main hesitation is that it was an ideal scenario, and no experiments have b...

Third patient
The third patient has arrived and is in refrigerated storage. We are beginning the months-long cryoprotectant ramp in preparation for storage in LN2.

Russian Medical Facility
I see in this article http://www.ft.com/cms/s/2/d634e198-a435-11e5-873f-68411a84f346.html that Kriorus is "moving to a new 3,300 square metre facility", which is 35,521 sf. They would only need 5,000 to 10,000 sf, so this is too big. It doesn't make sense until you notice that they are tal...
Re: Welcome
Are you aware that, no matter which company you sign up with, your service will be very poor in Canada?

Thanks. Both links were old. I edited the original message to just show the one current link.
Re: Welcome
You can always see how many patients we have by going to the Case Reports page at the bottom of the About OC page. 2 patients, and one more arriving shortly. As for members, we have been sort of discouraging people from signing up unless they are local or have no other options. We would rather get o...

Re: Phone number
OK, the new phone number is live and posted. 1-800-CRYO-334 (279-6334). You can call it, but just don't hit 0 to get to operator unless you mean it.

Re: Phone number
Mark seems to be quite insistent about this, so I'll cave. I'll start working on getting manned posted emergency numbers.
Fees
Our fees have been raised. This allows us to put the same level of funding into our Patient Care Fund as Alcor does into their PCT. But since we only store the brain, our overall fees are still able to be lower. http://www.oregoncryo.com/services.html We are now also recommending refrigeration for t...

Phone number
We've been asked why our phone number isn't prominently posted on our website. It's because we're still in startup phase. We do have some customers and some members, but they tend to be postmortem or else local and low risk. Also, it will take a number of days to set up the Asterisk phone server to ...
