Re: Life Extension as Backup Plan

The only people allowed to disagree with scientific consensus on a particular issue are a handful of other experts in that specific field. Nobody else is allowed to question them. This is not blind trust; it's rational trust. Why would I even think about believing a non-expert? This discussion is a...

Re: Life Extension as Backup Plan

If you make another irrational post, I will delete it. I won't tolerate irrational behavior on this forum. We're better than that. Jordan, not sure how to respond to this. Really, words fail me. Feel free to drop me off the list if you think some level of 'irrationality' has be crossed. And yes, I ...

Re: Life Extension as Backup Plan

I did not notice that you had responded to my previous post. scientists are not neutral about a carnivore diet. The average scientist over there looks at a epidemiological studies. Here is what they don't do: -They do not do controlled experiments on subjects. -They do not do controlled experiments ...

Re: Forum is up again

I added a certificate to one of my domains name a few weeks back, so it I can offer to do it. But all the co-ordination/access etc. that would be needed would not be over worth it is my guess.

Re: Life Extension as Backup Plan

All I'm looking at is what the vast majority of scientists would have to say about it. That's all. That's not casual flippant skepticism. It's ordinary rational skepticism. I think it's fair enough start to your skepticism ( at least you are not dismissive). What I have found is that medical/health...

Re: Life Extension as Backup Plan

Most cryonicists I talk to describe cryonics as their backup plan in case life extension doesn't work out. I've alway treated it the other way around, with life extension as my secondary goal. The 2 are NOT mutually exclusive for me. Even with infinite lifespan, I do not see why the value of cryoni...

Re: Community

I know it's an old post that I'm responding to but I have some comments here: -The community has to be evolve, and I think 20 is way too high a number. - I would say even 2 or 3 is a pretty good start. This means when new people join in and if they are dysfunctional in some sense one can weed them o...

4. A facility that is underground.

Recollecting some of Mike Darwin's posts, I believe that there are abandoned underground facilities ( bunkers, rocket launch/test sites etc.) available for cheap.

>Dennis, this person will also read your post and will probably be offended by it. I'm personally ok with offending someone, ( not that I go out of my way ). I've noticed that when it comes to immediate people around oneself( friends, family and in this case a potential long term customer) it's best...

Re: Inspections during cryopreservation

>But I am not buying your rebuttal; or your additional explanations because: As a consumer, things need to be the way I request, or it is not happening. If this is a young person under, say 20, I'd cut some slack. If not, I'd totally avoid dealing with this person, it's more trouble than what it's w...

Re: Customers

Off the top of your head, can you give a ball park ( in percentages) of the distribution of various categories the caller fall into i.e unreasonable expectations vs crazy vs reasonable expectations etc. Also some absolute numbers. Just want to get a sense of the numbers out there.

Is there a way to subscribe to _all_ topics in this forum and receive them as a daily digest?
Right now I have to individually go to each topic and subscribe, and I think even after subscribing the email notification does not work.
