His critique on cryonics was basically correct if you assume he was only talking about biological revival. He seems to have completely overlooked, however, that cryonics could be used right now, followed by memory retrieval later. He's clearly very enthusiastic about memory retrieval, and correctly understands that the entire "soul" is physically encoded in the neurons of the brain. He understands that these memories could be uploaded into software and that this would result in immortality. If he could just connect the dots and understand that cryonics is phase one of uploading.... Oh well. I think his confusion is a result of Alcor and CI emphasizing and hyping biological revival.
