This is very sad because there are a lot of great robotics and game developers as well as some manga illustrators, scientists, electric motor manufacturers, and cosplayer women in Japan I want to save from information theoretic death.
The Isekai trope has always been very upload adjacent, so for me it's confusing why Japanese people in Hokkaido aren't leading the world in this technology.

You would think. Lots of Americans have the superpower of not allowing shame to constrain them. Unfortunately, that's only one very small piece. I think demonstrating that uploading could really work is what will turn the tide. The Japanese will notice that and they will likely be more accepting of that than the Americans.
